My experience with horses began when a friend found an neglected horse penned up alone in the woods.
Three of us began our adventures with Misty - a cantankerous mare who nevertheless took us up and down the trails along the bayou outside of Houston. Thirty years later I bought my first horse before he was born. I raised him and another weanling in a neighborhood without fences and with only my wits to keep them “herded up”. Crazy, crazy but absolutely fun and I learned a lot about horses.
The goal of the breeding program at Canyonview Arabian and Morgan Sporthorses is to bring you horses bred for functional conformation and superior temperament. These horses are wonderful for students of Pat Parelli and other proponents of natural horsemanship because of the emphasis we place on outstanding ground manners and a willingness to work with a human partner. They are also appropriate for the advanced rider because they are started off on seat and leg aids and developed to retain that sensitivity which we so value.
